The two community plots at Church Lane have been transformed over the last couple of months. Those involved with the group have been able to put more time in than ever during lockdown, with social distancing strictly observed.
Plot 2 was taken on in the Autumn and hadn’t been maintained for many years. It’s now been cleared, dug, and almost fully planted with potatoes, pumpkins, peas, lettuces, radishes, carrots, beetroots, onions and garlic. Tomatoes, beans, courgettes and cucumbers will be ready to go in after any danger of frost.
The group are hoping to buy a large netted cage to protect the fruit from squirrels and birds. There are also plans to put up a shed at Plot 2 in the coming months.
During lockdown it is difficult to introduce anyone new to the project but as soon as restrictions are lifted those wishing to get involved will be most welcome. If you are interested, please contact WTBL.

Social Sewing Bee
The Social Sewing Bee meets on Thursdays from 1pm until 4pm.
It is a social group as opposed to a class or workshop, so perfect for bringing along your existing projects and sharing tips with others.
There are a handful of sewing machines available to use, along with a wealth of knowledge and expertise!
