Lister House Nursing Home, Bradford
Lister House Nursing Home, opened in 1990, is a beautiful period home with unique characteristics. Built between 1849 and 1896 it was, for many years the vicarage for the Listers Mill community.
Sherrington House Nursing Home, Bradford
Sherrington House Nursing Home is a purpose built care home, opened in 2005. It is situated on the site of Dr Price’s surgery which also looked after the staff of Listers Mill.
Our Care Home Activities
Activities are many and varied in our Aegis Residential Care homes. We arrange client meetings once a month to discuss all aspects of life within both homes and their input is always valued and taken into account. Therefore the entertainment changes regularly.
Regular outings covering many interests are also arranged and family members and friends are always welcome; as they are on all of our activities. The more the merrier!
Group Activities

Individual Activities
Our individual activities normally include:
- Crafts Hour – knitting, crochet, sewing etc
- Large print word searches
- Crosswords and mazes
- National and local newspapers and large print library book
- Audio books
- Relaxing outside in the garden and/or courtyard
Special Occasions
For momentous occasions throughout the year such as birthdays, Christmas, Royal Celebrations and major sporting events, we always arrange something special and memorable for our clients.
Our Care Home Food
At Aegis Residential Care Home, Head Chef Anne expertly manages both the Lister and Sherrington House kitchens, upholding exceptional standards of food quality and hygiene. Anne, a qualified chef since 1987, brings a wealth of experience from various care homes across the South of England. She joined Lister House in 2003 and was promoted to Head Chef at Sherrington House in 2005.
We offer residents a diverse menu of home-cooked meals, prepared daily by our on-site chefs using fresh, seasonal produce from reputable local suppliers. This commitment ensures our residents enjoy a healthy and varied diet.
We’re also delighted to incorporate popular recipes kindly shared by our residents. Throughout the day, drinks, homemade cakes, and biscuits are always available, and we warmly welcome any menu suggestions. We are also happy to cater to all special dietary requirements.
